KVIM Folk Arts Program Culminates in Polur Parish Mega Event

Evangelization is possible through folk arts ------------------------------------------------------------- Tiruvannamalai, April 19, 2026 — Deepagam, in collaboration with Polur Parish (Diocese of Vellore), brought the curtain down on its series of Kalai-vazhi Irai-mozhi (KVIM) folk art evangelization programs with a vibrant parish-level “mega folk art event.” The initiative showcased how gospel values can be spread through traditional Tamil folk arts, engaging children, youth, and parishioners in creative catechesis. The grand finale unfolded on April 19 at Sacred Heart Church and DBHSS, Polur. Over 300 parishioners, parents, and children participated, beginning with a flag march and hymn Ulagin Oli Neere Yesuve! (“You are the Light of the World, Jesus”). Parish Priest Fr. Francis Pinto emphasized faith formation rooted in resurrection, announcing Polur as a new sub-center of Don Bosco Catechetical Center.
