Catechetical Fest: Celebration of Faith, Katpadi

The Catechetical Festival “Let Us Celebrate Faith” was organized on October 29, 2023 Sunday at Don Bosco School in Gandhi Nagar-Katpadi. All Salesian houses, institutions and parishes in Vellore Region participated in the Faith Event. Breakfast was served for the people who came by Bus from different villages. At 9:00 AM the celebration began with Biblical procession, Lighting of the lamp, Distribution of Bible, and Felicitation of the Guest of Honor. After the inaugural session, Catechesis for the Children, Youth and Adults were held separately in the morning. Fellowship meal was served during Lunch hour for all in the afternoon. At 2:00 PM cultural programs were held in which children and youth from institutions and parishes staged their program items. At 4:30 PM solemn mass presided by Rev. Fr. Provincial, which was con-celebrated by all Salesians from Vellore Region. Deepagam Kalaikuzhu members who dressed as Biblical characters were welcoming the celebrants in the morning. Bible was distributed freely for the adults (per family), youth received Ecology Catechism book and children were gifted with Chinna Kuripidam (children catechism book). Over 1500 people took part in this Faith Celebration.
