கலைவழி இறைமொழி: Evangelization by Folk Arts, Ennore

DEEPAGAM (Don Bosco Catechetical Centre for Faith and Value Education) and Youth Ministry jointly organized first folk arts training camp for INM Province’s Youth from May 18, 2024 to May 22, 2024 at Don Bosco Youth Animation Center (DBYAC), Ennore on Culture and Youth Empowerment using Folk Arts to spread the salvific gospel of Jesus Christ. Seventy-eight High School and Higher Secondary School children from five parishes namely Polur, Jolarpet, Maranodai, Pavunjur, and Vyasarpadi (of Vellore, Tirupattur, Pondicherry and Chennai regions) were sent to attend the five-day folk arts training camp by the parish priests and Salesian institutes. Ten trainers belonging to Bheem Vetri Folk Cultural and Research Trust, Tiruvannamalai and Saga Silambam Kalaikoodam (Periyakavanam) Ponneri, Chennai conducted the folk arts training camp through the coordination of Fr. John Christy, (Director, Youth Ministry) and Fr. Jesudoss (Director, Deepagam). The training camp was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Edwin Vasanthan (INM Economer) on May 18, 2024, which was concluded by Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Swamikannu (Rector, DBYAC) on May 22, 2024. The program was approved by Rev. Fr. Provincial and his Council, while Surabi (Social Action ministry) sponsored it.
