At least thirty-five children accompanied by their parents from Basin Bridge and Broadway Parishes participated in the annual (and informal) SuperVBS at Kilpauk on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The program was organized by Deepagam as part of Biblical and Children Catechesis. SuperVBS is unique in that parishes send their best performing children from their own VBS programs at their parish.

Children took part in the following competitions: Biblical Passage Recital, Drawing based on Biblical Themes, Singing Hymns, and Fancy Dress on Biblical Characters/Saints.

The program was officiated by Bro. Mariadoss Chinnasamy SDB and Fr. Johnson Bashyam SDB who distributed prizes and gave message to the parents and children. The purpose of the VBS was - as Deepagam catechist Santo put it - ‘to know Christ’ and ‘to proclaim Christ’. Bro. Mariadoss in his brief talk to the community (parents and children), thanked the Deepagam team for their effort to help people “come together in faith”.

The VBS concluded after gifting and certifying the children at 1:00 PM; notably, few volunteers of Sound and Light program were present at this Super VBS, as judges and organizers.
