Fr. Jesudoss, Fr. Francis Sagaya Pinto and Deepagam Staff visited Polur and Jawadhi Hills Parish on July 07, 2024. Addressing Polur parish community, the Director said, “Focus of Salesian mission is young people. He observed that Sunday Catechism class is not taken up by the teachers; therefore parish need to motivate the teachers to take regular classes and Vincent de Paul members can take up the role of catechism teachers. Deepagam team had group discussion with members who took responsibility for catechizing children (eight members of Vincent de Paul / four catechism teachers). It was advised to constitute more pious associations. Children took active participation in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena Mass, the context of the visit. The action song: “Vuppu Kaaram Pulippu Maavu Pola Vaazha Azhaippu” was performed instilling in the kids the call to be salt and yeast of the earth. The faith pedagogical approach today was Catechetical instruction and Liturgical animation.

The Deepagam catechetical team went to Jawadhi Hills – a mission station, which has got only two anbiums (BCC- Basic Catholic Community), two women religious communities, 22 families and a boarding for tribal boys. The level of faith was strong and evident in participating in the anbium meetings. The team taught how to organize “BCC meetings”, conduct catechism classes and perform biblical songs for the community. As usual the Catechetical approach was Instructions, Animations (action song, group activity) and Liturgy Celebration.
