All meeting participants shared their standpoints about forming the mature students (youth) with Salesian Characteristics / Essence with visible identity namely, patience and gentleness.
Of all shared visions and perspectives, what stood most prominent was that the Faith Formation must be the formation of virtues through Gospel values for both Christian and non-Christian students alike with the Salesian Charism envisioned by our founding father, Don Bosco.
The Clubs will be networked with other departments of INM such as, Youth Ministry, DBSARC, Don Bosco Higher Education Network and so on.
SALT Club is for students of other faith that performs more like an association by its reachability and purpose; while, LIGHT Club is for Christian students (Catholic / Non-Catholic) that fosters faith formation. Both SALT and LIGHT Club intertwine in the mission of empowering the youth with faith and value formation towards personal and social development.
Incidentally, for the first-time, Deepagam has invited Province’s “Education to Faith” members to collaborate and decide on catechizing students of higher education.
