Faith Fiesta brings 140 students together for Catechism Day at Tirupattur
TIRUPATTUR, OCTOBER 24, 2025: Deepagam, the Don Bosco Catechetical Center (INM), brought a vibrant celebration of faith to Don Bosco School of Excellence (CBSE) here on October 24, as schools from the Tirupattur region gathered for the annual Catechism Day, locally known as Maraikalvi Naal. The daylong Faith Fiesta combined gospel music, scripture knowledge and creative performances to deepen Gospel values among students from primary through higher secondary levels.
The morning’s Faith Fiesta featured a Bible Quiz based on the Life of Christ and newly introduced Gospel Singing and Dance contests that invited pupils to share their faith through music and movement.
The programme ran from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and drew 140 students from Don Bosco institutions in Tirupattur and Jolarpet. Laughter, applause and songs filled the hall at Don Bosco School of Excellence on Friday as schoolchildren gathered for Deepagam’s annual Catechism Day, a celebration that blends scripture study with creative expression.
Competitions were held at K–12 levels and included the centre’s long-standing Bible Quiz alongside two newly introduced contests, Gospel Singing and Dance. The Bible Quiz tested participants on the Life of Christ as presented in the four Gospels, while the singing and dance events invited students to express their faith through music and movement. Organisers presented medals and certificates to winning teams across categories and awarded the overall trophy to Don Bosco School of Excellence (CBSE), Tirupattur.
Don Bosco School of Excellence (CBSE-English) and Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School (Tamil) claimed the top overall prizes. Other participating schools included Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School (English), Dominic Savio Primary School (Tamil) from Tirupattur, and Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School (Tamil) and Don Bosco Primary School from Jolarpet.
